Base Modules

[go:Base] Modules Group

  • Files&Folders Manager (Explorer) is an infrastructural module which allows working with different objects of the system and organizing them in groups. It provides with a set of functions which can be applied to an object: creating of a new object, its editing, relocation, administration, etc. It is possible to create folders with different complexity of nesting, quite easily move and delete them without breaking the structure, insert any objects into any folder and organize them in the form of a tree (the structure is similar to the file structure in Windows). Each list of objects has different set of functions which are available depending on parameters which are defined specially for this particular type of objects. It is an entry point for other modules in the content of the selected group.
  • Object Inspector allows editing different characteristics of selected objects of the system. The set of available editing functions depends on the type of the selected object and provides with an entry points for other modules in the context of the selected object. For example, ObjectInspector for the object "JPG Image" downloads the editing module for general characteristics of the object, access rights, editing history, versions control, preview, etc. Available functionality depends on users' rights. Thus, for a beginner the amount of available modules will be much more limited than for a professional.
  • Object Selector allows selecting objects of certain types. It provides with the possibilities to create new objects, select from existing ones, conduct search and operate with Clipboard.
  • History Module provides with an access to the information about all changes been done to an object: by whom, when and where the changes were performed. It allows comparing different versions of a document and returning to any previous version.
  • Clipboard is an auxiliary module for simplifying work with objects and performing group operations.
  • Object Finder provides with search possibilites across system objects using metadata and content. Thus if a user does not remember where a particular object is saved, s/he can easily find it with the help of this search engine. It allows saving search requests and all updates of search results to the saved requests will be done automatically.
  • Security Module allows administration of access rights based on a role model. Roles are a set of access rights and they are used to improve efficiency of managing user profiles. One role can be linked to one or many users. One user can have one or many roles. Example: a user can have the right to create an article but would not have the right to publish it. In this case s/he has to send the article to a user with oublishing rights who can then decided to either publish or reject.
  • Import/Export Module is used for reserved object copying and migration of objects between different systems. This function should be restricted to administrators and people with sufficient technical knowledge.
  • Synchronization Module allows automatic synchronization of objects between two and more systems. For example, when several systems use the same objects and changes to them are being done only in one of the systems, it is possible to duplicate modified objects into other systems with certain periodicity.
